This exercise will enable us to use quickly the tags presented in this KHub section in creating content for a website with 3 to 4 webpages.  Take note that this exercise focuses solely on content creation and the use of different HTML tags.  We will create the content in class/lab for one week in week 2 (Oct. 6 o 10)

For Na, Sr, K, and Rb - we will do Q2 Graded 1 together in class (i.e. don't start on your own).   ~>Sir Roy

This will be continued on the 2nd Graded Exercise next week wherein we focus on applying format using CSS different properties.  Please read through the materials in this section so that we will focus on the application of these materials in this exercise.

Please follow the instructions below:

1. This is an individual exercise with group grade component.

2. On each table in the laboratory, please discuss a topic to create a website with three to four webpages.  Out of the topic you decided, create sub-topics and each of this sub-topic will be translated into webpages to be created by each of the student in the group.  Please create a title and subtitle that will be carried by all web pages. Note: This part was given to you during our meeting last Oct 2 and 3

3. Each sub-topic web page will have the following content component:

  • A common favicon or site icon for the website and tab title
  • Title and sub-title of the website
  • Navigation area to connect to the other webpages
  • Title of your web page.
  • content section that will contain two to three paragraphs, at least one picture and at least one media files (video or Youtube link).
  • data that can be shown as a table (with rowspan and/or colspan implementation), with minimum of three columns and minimum of 5 row.
  • footer that links to other sites and for copyright notices.

4.  Each student will create the following in their 2nd Qtr Portfolio.

  • a folder called public - to contain html files
    • inside this folder create an html file and name it as 2Q1GSectionLastName.html
  • a folder called assets - to contain image/medial files
    • place your image/media files here. Note:

5.  Implement the content listed in #3 using appropriate tags and grouped under appropriate semantic tags.  Make sure that you will have link to your members webpage to form the navigation.  Note: We will start this class, but you are free also to start this on your own and with your group.

6. Update the index.html of your portfolio to have a link to your webpage.

7. In submitting, please include the following:

  • The names of the members in your group
  • The link to your Github live server of the 2nd Portfolio
  • The link to your 2nd Qtr Portfolio repository.

8. Your work should be your own, incorporate a citation to all resources used in this exercise under a footer tag.  See Guide on how to do APA Citation: https://libguides.csudh.edu/citation/apa-7
